Get ready to make a mess… and something amazing.
Join us for a hands-on, beginner-friendly dive into the colorful world of tie dye and ice dye! We’ll start with a quick intro to the basics, then turn you loose to twist, scrunch, fold, and dye your way into wearable art.
Each participant will receive items to dye during class, plus you’re encouraged to bring 1–2 of your own pieces (think t-shirts, totes, etc.) to transform. For best results, items should be 100% cotton — blends will still dye, but colors may appear softer and less vibrant.
✨ All ages welcome
✨ No experience needed
✨ Expect bold colors and happy accidents
Important notes from the Dye Gods:
Wear black or clothes you don’t mind sacrificing (this includes shoes!)
Things will get messy — that’s part of the magic
Every piece turns out different… perfection is not the goal
Come play with color, embrace the chaos, and leave with one-of-a-kind creations you can actually wear.

Thought Balloon Art Studio x House Rabbit Society present: Suns Out Buns Out 🐰
For a limited time Thought Balloon is hosting visiting bunnies from the House Rabbit Society this summer!
Come to the studio to meet our rabbit visitors and learn more about them. No need to sign up in advance, walk ins are welcome!
We will have a variety of pellet dishes and food bowls for bunny owners to paint but other small pet owners are welcome to paint pottery for their fur babies too! We will also have bunny themed pottery to paint like sculptures, ornaments, and magnets 🐇
If painting pottery isn’t your thing, we will have our FREE paint stations set up too!
Participants that would like to paint pottery should expect to pay the $5 studio fee per person plus the price of the bisque. Special event bisque will start at $5 for a magnet and $10 for small pellet dishes and increase in price from there.
After the event, pottery will be fired and can be picked up in about 2 weeks. At the event, you can elect to pick up at the studio as usual OR at the HRS Headquarters in Richmond. When pottery is ready to pickup, Thought Balloon will send you a text to let you know!
30% of proceeds during the event will be donated to the House Rabbit Society to support their mission to save and improve domesticated rabbit lives.
